Howdy! I'm Hailey, head cheese / deck boss / owner of The Knotty Crew.

I started The Knotty Crew after years of back deck dreaming on board my family's 32ft Bristol Bay drifter. After years of dreaming, I finally made my clothing line a reality! The Knotty Crew was created for the risk taker & rule breaker, the dues payer and fish slayer. A line of knotty clothing and goods that represents the wild life we live at sea. The Knotty Crew was created for the fisherman, by the fisherman. 

 A little about me: I was blessed to spend my childhood growing up on Kodiak Island. I spent every summer since I could see above the rails picking fish in Bristol Bay and cleaning Halibut around Kodiak on my dads boat, the F/V Duespayer II.

My entire life has revolved around the fisheries and the seas of Alaska. It's in my heart and blood and I couldn't imagine not being surrounded by this incredible industry. In fact,  as a small town commercial fishing girl … I married into a small town commercial fishing family! Imagine that?

While I might be the boss... the “crew” is a lot more than just me!  You'll see them on our site and social medias, and someday they will impress me enough to be promoted from swab to mate (if you got that, you're awesome) and have their own about me section... until then…

These days I spend my days on land and am retired from sea life (mostly). Someone has to run the social media pages and be the boat's land support! I still try to get scales on my boots a couple times a year on the back deck of my fiance’s seiner and fish some halibut IFQs because I can’t be completely done yet... like I said, it is in my blood!
